4 Ways to Manage Family Expectations Around Fee Increases

The second half of the year is already peaking through and it often becomes the time for parents to question fee increases. Fee increases are not everyone's cup of tea but here are four tips to alleviate the stress and worry for your families.
Visit our products page to see how LineLeader by ChildcareCRM can help you during Fee Increase.

1) Provide Clear, Upfront Communication

Communicate with families by email to keep them updated on fee increases (see below for example email). Don't beat around the bush, it's better to be honest and straight to the point. State upfront how much the increase will be. During these times, it is crucial that you keep the trust of your families and support them where you can.

2) Give Them Something More

A fee increase also usually means that your centre is improving in certain areas. Explain where you think your centre will be improving in the upcoming months to showcase that the fee increase will prove valuable to them as well. For example, you can expand on new programming that will commence, upgrade to learning rooms, or additional safety and hygiene measures. All of this is vital to assure the parents that what they are paying for will be worth keeping their children enrolled at your centre.

3) Inform Families About the AU Childcare Subsidy

The out-of-pocket cost will increase for all families. However, remind them about the support of the AU Government’s Childcare Subsidy and do your best to guide them on how to make the most out of it. Even though their out-of-pocket costs will increase, still make sure that you are giving families the correct advice to support them in their financial state. Lead them to the free government approved childcare subsidy calculators online to give them correct and accurate information.

4) Include Good News Stories About Your Centre

Good news stories are always a great help to ease a change in routine or finances. Your centre is full of positivity and family testimonials, so why not share them? Stories about your educators and children’s learning outcomes are always sought out for by your families.
